Linen and cottolin warp in very soft colours. With a very fine linen thread in the weft and plain weave, the warp would be the total protagonist in this piece. By introducing the stripes in red that protagonism is lost and the stripes will focus all the attention.

The idea of creating such a contrast of colour and texture emerged from seeing a nest of red larvae in a crack in the bark of a tree branch.
