Walking around the paths surrounded by olive groves, I have been noticing the rapid propagation of a particular tree. These two pieces are woven using red to resemble the leaves of that tree, green with vermillion tips.
The idea of weaving two arose from the fact that it is an invasive tree. They are not identical pieces. The weft plays on opposites. The position of the red in relation to the green in the weft, and the shade of red used, produces a different optical effect.
